Scholarships

 

UCI member universities offer a number of scholarships for international students to study in their campus for a period of a semester up to one academic year and also for full degree programs.

Ton Duc Thang University

1. Scholarships

  • 30 scholarships of 50-100% for Undergraduate programs taught in English;
  • 85 scholarships of 50-100% for Undergraduate programs taught in Vietnamese, covers tuition fee for 01 year of Vietnamese preparatory course, tuition fee for undergraduate programs and dorm fee according to the study period regulation of the major.

3. Requirements:

Academic requirement:

High school diploma or equivalent; and, GPA of high school graduation or final year of high school is at least 6.5 (over 10.0 scale) or at least “Average Good”.

Language proficiency requirement:

For Undergraduate programs taught in Vietnam:

Having a Vietnamese language proficiency test result/certificate at least B2 level; Or attending 01 year for Vietnamese language study at TDTU and pass the final Vietnamese language proficiency test at least B2 level.

For Undergraduate programs taught in English:

Citizens from an English native speaking country; Or having an IELTS at least 5.0 (or equivalent); Or attending TDTU English language proficiency test.

Addition requirements:

For Pharmacy major, applicants must have:

GPA of the final year of senior high school is marked as “Good” or above; The average Chemistry score of the final year of senior high school or equivalence must be ≥ 6.5/10.0 For the major of Architecture, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design, applicants are required to take the TDTU aptitude assessment test organized by TDTU.

4. Application documents:

  • Application form (download at website address admission.tdtu.edu.vn/en/undergraduate/Application-form-and-documents);  
  • A notarized copy of high school diploma or equivalence;
  • A notarized copy of high school academic transcripts/study record or equivalence;
  • A notarized copy of Passport/ID card;
  • A copy of English/Vietnamese language proficiency certificate (if any, required for the Undergraduate programs taught in English language);
  • Health certificate issued by the authorized bodies within the last 06 months.

5. How to apply:

  • Step 1: Fill in Application form in English language;
  • Step 2: Prepare notarized copy of the above required documents;
  • Step 3: Scan all the Application form and notarized copy of required documents;
  • Step 4: Write an email with subject: “Application 2023-2024_Your full name _ Your nationality” and attach all of application documents in the email;
  • Step 5: Send the email to TDTU International Admission Team at the email address: admission.undergraduate@tdtu.edu.vn.

6. Deadlines:

6.1. Application period

  • For September 2023 intake, from 25th of April to 15th of July 2023; 
  • For January 2024 intake, from 10th of June to 14th of November 2023.

6.2. Result announcement

  • For September 2023 intake, before 31st of July;
  • For January 2024 intake, before 30th of November.

Tomas Bata University in Zlín

International students coming to TBU in Zlín within LPP/Erasmus programmes are eligible for the accommodation scholarship. Applications for accommodation scholarship are to be submitted at the host faculty, signed and passed to the International Office. The students will receive the decision on the accommodation scholarship to be paid during the entire period of their study at TBU in Zlín in the given calendar year. The respective amount will be specified by the relevant Rector’s Decision. Student must collect the scholarship amount in the Main Cash Office at the Rectorate.

On their arrival, international students coming to TBU within LPP/Erasmus programmes will be offered a free course in the Czech language. International students can take their meals at subsidized prices in the Refectory run by TBU in Zlín.

Scholarship for New International Student

From the academic year 2018/2019, all new international students admitted to study in a full-time Bachelor’s or Master’s programme taught in the English language at TBU will be granted a monthly scholarship.

Hasselt University

1. VLIR-UOS ICP scholarships
VLIR-UOS provide 12 full-fledged scholarships for the ICP-programme of the Master of Statistics.
The scholarship eligibility criteria include (non-limitative list, for information purposes only):
Nationality and Country of Residence: a candidate should be a national and resident of one of the following 31 countries (not necessarily the same country) at the time of application:

Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Guinea, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe
Asia: Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Palestinian Territories, Vietnam
Latin America: Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Nicaragua, Peru
Age: the maximum age for a Master programme candidate is 35 years. The candidate cannot exceed this age on January 1 of the intake year.
These scholarships consist of the following payments:
- Allowance as of September 2018 (this includes the accommodation and family allowance): € 1150/month;
- Several one-time payments;
- Insurance, international travel and tuition fee.

2. Master Mind scholarships
The Government of Flanders has launched this new scholarship programme in 2015, Master Mind Scholarships. For the academic year 2017-2018, it awarded up to 45 scholarships to outstanding Master students from all countries. The programme aims to promote the internationalization of the Flemish Higher Education.

3. BTC Scholarships
BTC is the Belgian development cooperation agency that supports developing countries in their fight against poverty. Each year BTC grants scholarships in Belgium across diverse fields of training, including Master programmes to students from its priority countries.The list of countries include: Algeria, Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, DR Congo, Ecuador, Guinea, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Palestinian Territory, Peru, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam.

VSB Techinical University of Ostrava

Georgius Agricola Scholarship

Students wishing to come to VSB-TUO as Exchange Programme students can apply for Georgius Agricola Scholarship. The Georgius Agricola Scholarship is not established for students who were given a scholarship from international programmes.
The Georgius Agricola Scholarship is determined for paying expenses connected with a short-term study of a foreign student in bachelor's, master's and doctoral study programmes realized by VSB-TUO for the period from one to four months; it is especially determined for completing chosen subjects, a project completion, a seminar work, a part of thesis.

2. Holland Scholarship (HS)
This scholarship is meant for excellent and very talented students from outside the European Economic Area (non-EU/EEA) who intend to follow their bachelor’s or master’s degree in the Netherlands. The scholarship only applies to non-EU/EEA students who pay full institutional tuition fee.

3. Orange Tulip Scholarship (OTS)
Saxion University of Applied Sciences (UAS) offers the OTS to bachelor candidates from Brazil, China, Indonesia, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Vietnam, South Africa, India, as a waiver.

University College of Northern Denmark

UCN Scholarships
Each year UCN awards a number of tuition fee scholarships to highly-qualified non-EU/non-EEA applicants. The scholarship provides a reduction on the tuition fees for the entire duration of the study programme.

Requirements and selection criteria
To be considered for a scholarship, the applicant must fulfil the general admission requirements as well as the programme specific admission requirements. Moreover, the application should show high qualifications based on the following selection criteria:
- Work experience relevant to your choice of studies
- Other work experience
- Additional proficiency (e.g. parts of higher education level courses, summer school or other upper secondary level courses)
- Your motivation letter
- Studies or work in a country other than your home country
- Relevant courses or classes
- English language qualification
