Today's Wrocław University of Science and Technology (WUST) is an inheritor of the tangible property of the German Königliche Technische Hochschule Breslau and the intellectual and research traditions of the Lviv Polytechnic. The university has functioned under the current name since 1945.
WUST is located in the south-west of Poland which is one of the most dynamic economies in the European Union, while simultaneously achieving a very high rank on the Human Development Index. The university has been an important center of technical education since the very beginning of its existence. Today, WUST is one of the biggest and best technical universities in the country, and the leading scientific and educational center in Poland. Its development is confirmed by research potential, didactics at the highest level, innovation and also cooperation with various industries.
